The HTC Hero originally didn’t have the outgoing vibration problem at all. It was one of the mid-aged firmware updates that went out to everyone using the HTC hero. As of right now there’s nothing anyone can do to stop it from vibrating when making an outgoing call.
HTC is aware of it but it is unlikely they are going to change it in the near future. It looks like they intentionally made it vibrate and called it a feature. It is really unfortunate because the HTC forums are flooded with complaints about the vibration when making phone calls and they (HTC) don’t appear to be looking into the problem.
Sorry for the bad news if this feature is annoying. Even a scan through the Marketplace doesn’t show anyone has found a workaround for it yet. Just make the call, wait for it to vibrate, and then put the phone to your ear. That’s the best thing to do at the moment!
