I’ll push this question as both a question and a product review.
It seems like the ZAGG invisibleSHIELD only came out a year ago and now you see the little shops in all the strip malls around the nation. At first glance they are a bit pricier than the typical screen protector for phones, iPads, iPhones, etc. When we got my wife’s Spring phone done about 6 months ago it was $35 for the full screen and body protector. At the same time I purchased just a screen protector online for my Sprint phone for about $2.00 plus shipping. We didn’t want to spend $70 on protecting both the phones in case the ZAGG invisibleSHIELD wasn’t all it was cracked up to be.
The person working at the ZAGG booth took about 40 minutes to install the screen and body protector on my wife’s phone. There were a few air bubbles in her phone so it wasn’t perfect. I was thinking it would be perfect since it was their product and they were putting it on themselves. It wasn’t. The screen protector I put on by myself wasn’t perfect either (but I’m not a professional!). The quality was good enough to keep the wife happy and they told her not to put the phone in any phone case for 3 days so everything could dry properly.
About 5 months into it my wife’s ZAGG invisibleSHIELD began to peel off in back and get some pretty nasty air bubbles around the sides. At the same time, the really inexpensive phone protector I put on myself was in almost original condition (minus a few scratches). ZAGG has a guarantee such that you can bring it back any time and get a new ZAGG inivisibleSHIELD put on for $5. That may not be true in all areas, but in the Twin Cities that’s what they are charging. We went back and they happily replaced her ZAGG invisibleSHIELD when we showed them the original receipt.
Her phone didn’t have any scratches on it. Any scratches that were on the invisibleSHIELD did not go through to the phone at all. The protector I put on myself does appear to have let some scratches through to the screen but it did a good job minimalizing the scratches.
Do I think the product is worth it? When it is time to upgrade my phone I’ll use the ZAGG invisibleSHIELD on it to keep it in perfect shape. I wouldn’t waste the extra money on it if the phone or device already contains scratches though. I know a lot of people are scared to put on their own screen protectors but the first time I tried to do it I only had one small air bubble. 6 months later the one air bubble is still there and hasn’t moved or gotten any bigger.
