We have all been there at one time or another. Flash drives are so small you may never know its in your pocket until you hear it clunking in the dryer!
Luckily for you it will most likely be just fine. Even if you used soap in the wash and dryer sheets to make your clothes all nice and smelly the flash drive should be okay. Just be sure to let it air dry until you know without a doubt there isn’t going to be any moisture inside the flash drive case. When I was in this situation I had my flash drive sit out for about 12 hours before I plugged it in.
To my surprise, once I launched Windows Explorer it showed all the data. Nothing was missing or destroyed. Everything was there and still to this day the flash drive hasn’t caused any problems. I do, however, make it a point to check my pockets a little better before throwing things in the wash

Thanks! When I googled “wet flash drive” your site was the only one that came up that actual had pertinent information…everything else was trying to sell me a new flash drive.
