For those of you IT people out there that have certifications, how do you list them on your resume? And what if they are expected or you don’t have them yet but you are working on them?
There's hundreds of different ways to put IT certifications on a resume and no way is "right" and very few are "wrong". I have my own section on my resume for certifications broken down by the association they are through.
Comptia: A+, Network+, Security+
Microsoft: MCSE, Windows 7
Cisco: CCENT, CCNA
Dell: Dell Warranty Parts
If I don't have the certification yet I usually put in the same section
Comptia: some_cert_here (expected month, year)
And for expired certifications I don't really list them. If you call them CERTIFICATIONS and don't mention they are all current, then it doesn't really matter. Right? If they ask you about it just tell them you earned the certification and it recently expired.
