Is fiverr.com a scam? Have you used it?
I wouldn't say fiverr.com is a scam by any means. Is it a scam if you buy a crappy service for $5? I've used them a few times hoping that the service I just bought would be something I'm not embarassed of but you pretty much get what you pay for on fiverr.com.. cheap stuff for $5.
Fiverr.com isn't a scam though. I haven't been double billed or anything. I also haven't tried to make money on fiverr.com, just a buyer so I can't comment on that.
I've used Fiverr.com a few times and don't think they're a scam. You will never get something worth any value from it but it's a fun way to spend $5
what would you buy with a few bucks with the kind of services avalable on the net for $10 or $5 it really is worth it, with the variety of ones available you would be hitting the one you want
Jiverr.com is a scam though. Anyone ever use that site? It’s a horrible copy cat.
Fiverr.com isn't a scam. I'd say that's a weird question but others ask if JustAnswer.com is a scam and most people agree it is.. so.. IMO it's not a scam, it's just a cheap site.
fiverr.com let me cancel an order that expired and got an instant refund so i dont think fiverr.com is a scam. maybe you get bad quality stuff from fiverr but if they dont finish it in time you can get a refund
NO THEY ARE NOT A SCAM.
I signed up with fiverr trying to get some logo and header work for one of my websites.. All I did was put the URL of the website so that the seller would know how to design my logo and header and guess what as soon as I signed up and sent them my money I was blocked and my account suspended.. This really sucks!!! and when I sent an email to them their response to me was!!
"We are unable to reinstate your account at this time.
Users who violate our Terms of Service and get their account permanently blocked can receive their revenues (if any) after a safety clearing period.
Please contact us again in 45 to 90 days. We will allow you to withdraw revenues you may have left in your account at that time, after an account verification process." 45-90 days? what a bunch of cr*p .. this is worth at least 10 negitive reviews from me!!!
Yeah it's kaka!!
It's **** ****!!!

Fiverr is not a scam. Some people really work hard for $5 and its true. But some people making fiverr a scam. I will tell you how. The example is right here, I am a logo designer at Fiverr and I have designed the logo for this site. But the owner of this site did not pay me……. Some designer charges more than $50 for same quality logo. At Fiverr we get only $4 for this job.
Why why why??? You can't pay this little for this job? Why people do such fraud with us???
ANY artist, even if they are terrible, that sells their work for $5 is only destroying themselves and EVERYONE else in the field. When you charge $5 for a logo, even if it's terrible, you're taking quality work away from yourself and others. A logo is worth THOUSANDS. Even doing a logo for $50 is degrading to all other designers. I understand if you're still in college or just starting out doing things cheaper…but do it for $50 or even $100, not $5. Sites like this are HORRIBLE and should be boycotted. By selling services on this site you are only lessening the value of your industry, your craft and furthering people's dumb idea that quality design isn't worth the price. Artists need to STICK TOGETHER and stop undercutting each other in order to make our industry thrive. It's ALL ON US. STOP USING THESE WEBSITES.
Definitely not a scam. I always receive prompt help from customer service when i have a question. I've made close to $1500 on there in a couple months.
fiverr is a scam, they banned me for no reason and wont return my cash!!
can anyone help me? is Fiverr.com a scam?
i have just heard of this site and most of what i see it doesnt look like a scam BUT you have to read the terms very carefully. all these people claiming that they have been canceled or banned most likely did something against the terms. it can be anything really that they dont let on their site. you must always read terms very carefully on something like this
Some rules are BAD. Moderators are evil. Customers don't answer proposals. An ugly place.
(I'm for the free art sharing)
Hohoho did I mention? I stopped using their site for a year.
Fiverr itself is not a scam, but you have to understand how it operates. You cannot contact the seller directly and vice versa. You cannot post email addresses or other contact info. Everything is done through their website which they use to control E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G. I understand the reason why they are doing it, so that sellers and buyers don't get together to cut fiverr out of any money. BUT at the same time, buyers can't really share their experiences.
The comment/feedback system is ok, but here's the thing: sellers complain that buyers leave bad feedback, and in many cases the feedback is removed, which artificially raises the sellers profile. You buy because you see all the positives, but what if you saw more honest accounts of real transactions?
Also, look at when the feedback was left. I just had a gig where I had to leave negative feedback TWICE because fiverr removed it. It was honest and not bashing. But if you look at the seller, his last feedbacks were from a month ago, yet he has hundreds of positive feedback AND 20+ orders in his queue? If you have that many orders coming in, feedback should occur daily, not a month ago. Check out our website to connect and see actual experiences: fiverr exposed dot com
you can follow my website link to decide for yourself whether or not Fiverr is a complete scam. I've been using them for half a year now and made a decent amount of money…little did I know after going in and doing some 'just in case' accounting using screenshots that I had collected and saved pages, that Fiverr was screwing me out of a lot of money.
One withdrawal alone was $16 short (which is 4 gigs , yes that's right Fiverr already keeps 20% of your revenues)
despite giving them undisputable evidence the support staff kept giving me the run around and telling me I had withdrawn all the money, I kept asking, well why did I only recieve $120 when doing simple mathematics shows that I should have had $136 and the gigs that you're showing withdrawn equal $136? They never gave me an answer and blatantly ignored the question several times. They also would not add money to my revenues after gigs had been completed. Fiverr.com is a total scam and honestly the people behind it should be arrested for embezzlement.
fiverr keeps $1 for every 5….soooooooooo
Terrible customer support. I made friends with 7 sellers, 3 were top rated and others including me level 2. Our money was wrongly deducted, ratings spoilt and support didn't care to reply. They treat sellers like pets and disrespect them. They side with only few sellers doing monkey dance or with buyers, since money is all they care. All legit sellers leave Fiverr soon, and its left with stupid and scam sellers. Stay away if you are a seller and more if you are a buyer who doesn't want to throw 5$ in the drain every once in a while. Fiverr is going down fast, soon and badly.
Fiverr must of changed since you were around, my money is always right on!! I have never been disrespected (i am a level 2 seller) I am not only a seller, but a buyer, the people i have chosen have done great work. I have never felt cheated either!!!!
As most of the people say you get what you pay for.
If you expect to get thousands of visitors for $5, then you shouldn't be expecting their quality to be any good.
But if you think of some more down to earth numbers, then yes, it is a great resourse to kickstart some of your projects.
whether someone pays me $5 or $75 for a logo, they get top notch work!! I have integrity.
Leaving my two cents. I was triple charged for a gig by them through paypal. I emailed them & send the the transaction numbers. All I have gotten is the runaround. "We are working on it" "it will be there tomorrow" It's kind of ridiculous that they have now lost a good customer over this. I spent a lot of money there and I've only been using it for a few weeks. The things that some people will do for $5 I can do myself but it's worth it to me to pay someone else to do it. I guess I'm back to doing it myself. Too bad.
I am a seller in fiverr and so far I get paid. SO I don't think fiverr is a scam. Please let me promote my gig here. Visit my fiverr gig if you want me to create a professional logo for 5 usd. http://fiverr.com/prinznikko/create-a-professional-logo
fiverr is not exactly what it shows. Oh yeah make as much as money you want using fiverr? and they take a $1 commission? I was a level 2 seller and fiverr decided to suspend my account and not let me withdraw my cleared revenue. What kind of bullsh*t is that?
This looks like it has been going on for a while. According to fiverrscam.net this type of scams dating back to even years back.
Just be smart. Withdraw your money fast. Don't end up like me.
Many people sale their interesting service in Fiverr, but at the end they get very little amount of sales. This is because Fiverr is a big ocean with many suppliers & service. So, it is hard to get client without good reputation.

scam might be a strong word but there can be hidden shipping costs for the buyer and you only get a refund if you place another order (the money rests in fiverr's account) or you ask to close down your account. All a pile of
Fiverr is definitely not a scam but some of the sellers on there are unreliable, as with any website or line of work. I have purchased many things on there from graphic design to animation, not everything is $5 either, sometimes you pay much more, but you get what you pay for. Just be leary of who you deal with. I have had to cancel orders from a few sellers but still have found many reliable and talented folks on there. I recommend giving it a try, especially considering the amount of stupid things people blow $5 on, so what do you really have to lose. Plus, you dont pay until the order is completed.
wow, NO FIVERR IS NOT A SCAM….I AM A PROFESSIONAL FREELANCE GRAPHIC ARTIST AND CRAIGSLIST POSTER….I ALSO WORK ON OTHER FREELANCE SITES. I DONT DO SUBSTANDARD WORK ONLY BECAUSE SOMEONE IS PAYING $5. i work very hard and my fiverr income pays for 2 cell phones. IT IS AN AWESOME COMMUNITY!!!
After nearly 150 orders let me say that it is a good deal but always bad apples in the bunch. My I biggest issue is that many sellers now want an additional fee if you use their work from your ORIGINAL ideal or concept. If I ask you to make me a hamburger, than that is your design. But if I tell you I want it cooked well, with cheese, jalapeños, onions, red pepper, and cucumbers…well that is my hamburger and you should not be asking me to pay you regardless of what I want to do with my ideal.
Fiverr is not a scam. I have only used it for kindle book covers, academic research and legal case law research. I get more than what my time, thinking and ingenuity could accumulate.
Fiverr.com is a scam. I ordered three services, each from a different "provider." No service or contact was provided by any of them. The so-called "providers" are fake, as are their advertised services. This website needs to be taken down, and the owners should be prosecuted as criminals.
I purchased 4 different services on Fiverr and received nothing in return. The "results reports" were fake.
I have just used fiverr for the first time to have a logo made, and it was brilliant. The person who made it has the name sumit01, and she sent me a brilliant logo that I am really pleased with. I woulad recommend the site highly. I am a music student and I have told all of my fellow students about it.
Fiverr is not reliable. Depends upon which artist you get as to level of quality. Don't expect a great rendering of your photo though. And they are very elusive.
When I originally commented I seem to have clicked on the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and now whenever a comment is added I receive 4 emails with the same comment. Is there a way you can remove me from that service? Many thanks!
